Photographs

The photographs are made for the camera. Everything (including light) in the scene is put there.

This work owes more to Man Ray and Moholy-Nagy than to Evans or Bresson.

The photographs are self reflexive in that they describe a space that is strictly photographic.

Light creates the photographic image and the photographs are about the way light creates space.

As with the earlier films, the materials seen in the photographs are a record of a performance.

The purpose of this performance is to describe the photographic space.

The residue of human activity is implied through the slashes and cuts left in the paper.
